Travel nurse, Meghan, gets recognized with her facility’s High Five Award

Meghan was nominated by her coworker for a High Five Award for demonstrating one of the facility’s values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Safety, and/or Teamwork. Read the sweet award letter below:

“Although being a traveler, Meghan quickly realized my need for help during my patient’s rapid decompensation and was such a support for me through my shift. She not only helped me physically with tasks but emotionally/mentally with her support. She has such a radiant personality and genuine heart and I was so lucky to have worked with her that day. Not only did she help me in my clinical processes for a pediatric patient, but was always checking in on my other patient and taking the time to talk to both of my patients’ parents. She checked in on them to see how they were doing and to emotionally support them in whatever ways she could. I didn’t get lunch that day and she was willing to go grab me a snack and drink so I could take a little break. Meghan is a top-tier employee and is the image of what nursing should look like.

Meghan made a big impact on my life. My shift would have been more hectic if it hadn’t been for her. But more so, I believe she impacted the families. Seeing her bright, familiar face and having her kind authenticity around, made parents feel more at ease. It should impact other nurses to see this prime example of teamwork in the workplace and want to embody that.”

Meghan, nurses like you make all the difference for the patients, families and colleagues around you. Thank you for all you do!

Aya traveler, Evan, takes the meaning of “healthcare hero” to new heights

RN, Evan, was recognized by leadership for his bravery in a high-risk situation while on assignment. A facility leader wrote:

“I want to formally commend our ED travel RN, Evan, for his outstanding bravery, and quick life-saving measures for a security officer and radiology staff today during a code silver. An inmate attacked a guard while at x-ray. He heard the commotion while passing by, and went to check on the situation. He noticed the inmate attempting to take the guard’s gun. Evan was able to remove the weapon from his grip and restrained the patient until security and law enforcement arrived. At one point the gun was pressed into his abdomen, but he remained calm and safely handled what could have been a devastating situation. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for his actions that kept our patients, visitors and staff safe during a true code silver. He deserves any and all recognition for his courage in the face of danger.”

Evan, your bravery is remarkable. We’re honored to have a hero like you on our team!

RN, Brittany, receives a DAISY Award nomination!

Aya traveler, Brittany, was nominated for a DAISY Award by her coworker for her outstanding patient care.

The coworker wrote, “Brittany provides compassionate and individualized patient care to each and every person she’s given the opportunity to care for. She goes above and beyond and directs care to her patient’s specific, individual needs. She’s always so patient and genuine with them. Having worked alongside her for several months now, I can honestly say she’s one of the most amazing nurses I’ve had the pleasure of working with. This weekend we worked closely with a critically ill patient who unfortunately passed away suddenly. Before the patient passed, Brittany took the time each and every night to make sure she got the attention and holistic care that she needed. She went the extra mile with her, every single night, and attended to every alarm, call light, phone call, etc. with such patience and kindness. I truly believe she made the patient’s last days so much more comfortable. She also went the extra mile with her family, updating them every step of the way. I’ve been so blessed to work next to such an amazing person/nurse.”

Brittany, we admire the way you prioritize your patient’s needs. Keep up the amazing work!
