Cheers to Corey for her DAISY Award nomination

Aya traveler, Corey, was recently nominated for a DAISY Award by one of her patients. Read the nomination below:

“Corey is a highly educated, compassionate nurse. I was highly impressed with the care I received from her. The unit was busy and she had many other patients, but she made me feel like I was her only patient! She is very comforting. She explained everything well to me. Corey’s excellent care is why I got better and got to be released today. Please recognize Corey’s amazing service!”

Thank you for taking such good care of your patients, Corey. It does not go unnoticed!

1, 2, 3 nominations for a DAISY Award

Aya RN, Bobbie, has been nominated for a DAISY Award three times! Read some of her patient feedback below.

“I was transferred to the ER department on Tuesday and later moved to the 4th floor. I had a few different nurses throughout my stay but really wanted to highlight one in particular. Bobbie was amazing. The ER was very busy and crowded and she still made time to check on me, talk with me and help with whatever I needed and explain things to me. She handled the stress that night very well and always had a smile and a positive attitude. I know most people don’t receive positive feedback so I want to be sure she, as well as her supervisor, knows how great of a nurse and person she is!”

“Bobbie was highly professional and very, very kind! Her attentiveness calmed me down and made my stay here in the ER comfortable. Bobbie is an excellent nurse! Thank you so much for what you did for me.”

We HAVE to agree with these patients. Congratulations on your nominations and amazing work, Bobbie!

Aya traveler, Katie, brightens a patient’s day with a burrito!

There are some bad days that only a burrito and good company can fix. Aya traveler, Katie, was caring for a patient in the CT-ICU who did not eat his provided dinner. Katie went and bought him a burrito from the food truck while she grabbed one for herself on her break. She then spent her break watching Jumanji and eating burritos with him to cheer him up.

This simple act of kindness made an impression on her patient. Read the ‘thank you’ note he sent her below:

“Dear Katie, Thank you so much for your kindness with me during my brief stay in your care in the CT-ICU. I will always be indebted to you for lifting my spirits after what was one of the most difficult and frightening days of my life. You have a great gift for connecting with people and making them feel present, heard and purposeful. Thank you for sharing that with me. I wish you the best in regard to your nursing education and hope you find great joy in all that you do.”

He also included a $25 visa gift card with a note that said “For: Burrito purchasing only.”

We love hearing about all the creative ways our nurses go above and beyond for their patients! Thank you, Katie, and enjoy your burritos!
