The Life Saving Award was bestowed to Rita

Rita was awarded the Life Saving Award from her facility after stepping in to help a car crash victim on her way to work!

The facility leader wrote, “As Rita drove past a car accident on her way to work, she noticed a police officer at the accident site looking concerned. Rita pulled over, notified the officer she was an RN, and asked if he needed help. He stated he did, as one of the drivers was trapped and having difficulty breathing. Because the driver’s car door could not open, the officer broke open the window, allowing Rita to get into the car. Using spinal cord precautions, she stabilized the driver’s neck while helping to open his airway. She heard his airway improve just as the fire department arrived with the jaws of life. The driver was successfully removed from his car and brought to the hospital to recover from his injuries. We are thankful for Rita and her willingness to stop and help in an emergency!”

The team applauds your attention to care, Rita. Congratulations on this well-deserved award!

Madison receives a Role Model For Excellence award

Madison received a Role Model for Excellence award for her top-tier performance while floating to another unit.

The facility leader said, “Madison floated from her home unit to the extended care unit and had to adapt to caring for 12 patients. Despite this daunting task, she maintained a very positive attitude. She took it upon herself to help others pass their meds, making sure patients got their medications on time. She also recognized a decline in a patient’s condition, resulting in a rapid response being called, ensuring the patient received the care they needed. She truly went above and beyond to prioritize patient care and support her peers, especially since it was not her home unit. She showed great resiliency and adaptability by providing great nursing care regardless of her environment.”

Congratulations on the award, Madison! Your team appreciates you, and so do we. Keep up the great work!

Sandy receives a DAISY Award

Sandy won a DAISY award after a patient nominated her after being brightened by Sandy’s engaging care!

The patient wrote, “Sandy was my nurse for multiple days, which would have seemed like so much longer if not for her incredibly engaging care. Beyond her exceptional medical attitude and personality, she also engaged with her patients through personal and downright interesting conversations, not to mention her relatable yet sophisticated sense of humor. With her bright personality, she could light up the room atmosphere just by entering — trust me, I found out through personal experience. Sandy is extremely go-to when it comes to caring for patients. She was so excited to switch my IV from my inner elbow to my wrist just so I was as comfortable as possible in an overwhelming hospital environment. She reassured me she would always bring my medication on time because she hated the idea of someone laying in bed hurting or being nauseous when she knew she could do something about it. Her professionalism and compassion go above and beyond and is an incredible inspiration. So many people learn from her example — I know I sure have. She deserves the best for her work and compassion in the medical field! Everyone that has experienced her care is extremely lucky whether they know it or not!”

Congratulations on the award, Sandy! Keep up the good work!
