Travel nurse, Jessica, is nominated for a DAISY Award

A charge nurse nominated Jessica for a DAISY Award for displaying extraordinary care, having a heart of gold and truly being invaluable to patients and facility staff.

The charge nurse wrote, “I witnessed Jessica make amazing impacts on our patients’ lives day in and day out. Our facility relies on travel nurses to meet our patient care demands and there are few travel nurses who have stood out as much as Jessica. She bravely took care of COVID patients despite knowing the risk of bringing the virus home to her family, and that takes heart — the heart of a hero. Her dedication, hard work and exemplary performance are consistent with the highest standards of care. Jessica is truly one of a kind and I believe she deserves a DAISY Award.”

Jessica, your dedication to quality care is an inspiration. Keep up the good work!

Travel nurse, Audrey, receives praise from three different people

Three different individuals recognized Audrey for her embodiment of top-notch nursing.

A nurse manager thanked Audrey for her quick thinking in a serious situation. She explained, “We had a serious safety incident where one of our patients was trying to attack another patient. If it weren’t for Audrey’s quick thinking and actions, I don’t know what would have happened, but her intervention kept our patients safe. It’s a pleasure to have her on our unit. She is an amazing nurse who is well loved by her patients and team. She always advocates for our patients and delivers high standards of care. We are very grateful to have her with us.”

A patient also nominated Audrey for a DAISY Award. He wrote, “Audrey has made my stay very relaxed and enjoyable, and she answered my questions to the best of her knowledge. She was helpful in many ways and went above and beyond for my care. Hospitals need more people like her.”

RN, Susan, receives a parent’s thank you card

A parent of a patient thanked Susan for the positive impact she had on their daughter.

The parent wrote, “Thank you for watching my daughter this year. Your presence always eased my mind and helped me know my baby was safe. This year has been crazy for us, and I can’t imagine how it would have been without you. There were many times when my daughter’s condition could have gotten worse, but it didn’t because of you. I want you to know you have made a huge impact and played an important role in my daughter’s life. You allowed her to have a semi-normal year in school with her friends instead of being in the hospital. Thank you again, from me and my whole family, for taking such great care of my girl.”

Susan, your excellent care made a huge difference for your patient and her family. Thank you for your hard work!

RN, Andrew receives a DAISY Award

Nurse, Andrew, received a DAISY Award for the impact he had on a family while caring for their father.

One family member wrote, “In November, my father was hospitalized with COVID and placed in the ICU unit for almost three weeks. My father’s condition did not improve, and on November 27, he passed away. Andrew was one of my father’s primary nurses, and during those unbelievably hard weeks, he was very compassionate, understanding and helpful.

“On many occasions, Andrew went above and beyond his job responsibilities to check on us, make sure we were okay and that we understood what was going on to help my father. As the days went on, the only thing that allowed us to go home and rest was knowing my father was in Andrew’s excellent care.

“I hope I’ve expressed how exceptional and special Andrew is.  The job he does is unbelievably hard and I don’t think that I could do it, but I am so very thankful that there are people like him that can. I feel the very least he deserves is to be recognized for his exceptional skill both as a nurse and a person. His bright light in our time of darkness is something my wife and I will never forget.”

Andrew, your exceptional care will forever be cherished by this family. Thank you for your dedication.

RN, Carrie, receives incredible feedback from her patient

Carrie received incredible feedback from a patient who felt especially cared for during their stay.

The patient wrote, “I want to express gratitude for Carrie. I received exceptional service from the time I got out of the car until I left the hospital. Carrie was very kind and companionate when she noticed I wasn’t doing well. She asked the visitors to give her some time and escorted them out. She then came back to the room and stayed with me and even offered to meditate. Carrie said we would get through it together. I felt as if I was the only patient in the hospital at that time.”

That’s well-deserved praise, Carrie. You’re a shining example of what it means to be an excellent nurse!

A facility supervisor praises Bryan for helping the unit

A facility supervisor praised Bryan, saying he saved the day for their unit.

The supervisor explained, “Bryan does a great job here. After an epic update, our time projections were messed up. We use the time projections to find the number of RTs we need on the floors and in the ICUs. We can run the number manually, but it takes longer than an hour. Bryan created a spreadsheet, and now we can do the process in five to ten minutes. His ingenuity and dedication saved our charges a lot of time and, more importantly, gave them some piece of mind. He is a great RT.”

Your small contributions are always appreciated, Bryan. Your team thanks you, and so do we!

Aya RNs, Ashley, April, Olivia, Zachary, Bailee and Jacqueline, receive praise from their facility manager

Aya travel nurses, Ashley, April, Olivia, Zachary, Bailee and Jacqueline, received remarkable feedback from a facility manager who is grateful for her help and hard work.

The manager said, “I want to commend the float pool traveler staff. All of them were extremely proactive with their patients and helpful to each other and the unit as a whole! They did a tremendous job of making sure they helped each other and communicated with me, they were all very autonomous and handled the workload without trouble. They covered each other’s breaks and made sure all the patients’ needs were covered. It was such a pleasure seeing them all work together as a unit and contribute to our patient population. We could not have done it without them.”

In addition, here’s what their recruiters had to say about working with them:

“Ashley always has a positive attitude and is very detail oriented.”

“April has been an outstanding nurse to work with over the last several assignments. We have been from Arizona to Utah and now to California together. I love her honesty and trust in the travel process. You can really tell she focuses every day on providing the best patient care for those around her, and the write-up by the management staff at the facility proves that. Way to go April!”

“From the beginning, Olivia has always been very kind. She came in as a first-year nurse from Texas, took a leap of faith to head out to California and has absolutely excelled in her first assignment. I could not be more proud of her. I am so excited to see all that she continues to accomplish in her travel career!”

“Zach is one of my favorite RNs and humans of all time. He always puts patients and staff first to make sure he is doing the best possible job. He has a heart of gold, and every hospital he goes to want him back. I love Zach!”

“Bailee is great! She is amazing to work with and a great representative for Aya!”

“Jacqueline is one of my strongest communicating clinicians. There is no surprise she’s received such a positive review. In fact, this is her second assignment in which she has been recognized by the hospital for her superior patient care and teamwork. I couldn’t be more proud she is being featured again and even more so that she proves to be a remarkable representative of Aya!

Keep up the amazing work! Your patients team members are grateful for your excellent care, and so are we!
