RN, Ashleigh, is nominated for a Sunflower and DAISY award!

Aya traveler, Ashleigh, was nominated for two awards by her patients after providing outstanding care.

The first nomination was for a DAISY Award. The patient wrote, “I want to say that I don’t go to emergency rooms often, but the care I received in the ER was by far the best care I’ve ever had! The ER was very crowded and everyone was running around taking care of the patients. I want to nominate my nurse, Ashleigh, as she made me feel like I was a member of her family. She was very compassionate to the way I was feeling. Her clinical skills were spot on. She explained everything so I would understand. She cares about her patients. I wish all nurses could be like Ashleigh. I was to express my profound gratitude to her.”

Her other patient nominated her for the facility’s Sunflower Award, writing, “Ashleigh is very caring and made me feel so comfortable, even when I was miserable and scared. She explained everything and was very personable. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. All nurses should be like her!”

RN, Mishel, wins a DAISY Award!

Aya Traveler, Brenda (who goes by “Mishel”), won a DAISY Award after providing exceptional care to her patient. Read the heartfelt nomination below:

“I am the worst patient any nurse could have. When I first met Brenda, I was in so much pain, I was rude and ignored her when she came into my room, but she gave me my space and she didn’t take it personally. After several hours, I finally spoke to her and told her what I needed. She made it happen, quick, fast, and in a hurry. She was very professional and compassionate towards my situation. She immediately jumped into action and made my stay here as comfortable and possible. During which, she was taking care of patients that were in more critical situations than myself. Her attentiveness and quick response to my needs- go above and beyond her duty as a nurse. Her easy smile and quick wit instantly put me at ease and made me remarkably comfortable with my anxiety of being in the hospital. Out of all my stays in the hospital, which have been many, I have never had a nurse, with such compassion and understanding, take care of me so well. To the point, she anticipates my needs before I even say anything. Brenda treats me like I am her only priority, which I know is definitely not true. Brenda is a credit to the nursing profession and to the facility. Without her, I do not believe I would have stayed as long as my doctors wanted me to stay to heal. Brenda and I talked a lot which helped put a lot in perspective which resulted in my health improving. I have her to thank for my improved health. If any nurse deserves this award, it is Brenda.”

Thank you, Mishel, for all you do for your patients. We’re proud to have nurses like you on our team!

A shining patient review for RN, Christina

Aya traveler, Christina, received a complimentary letter from a patient who wrote, “Christina is a nurse of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. She is friendly and caring in nature. She is efficient when spending time with patients and keeps you informed that she has not forgotten, but is trying to obtain answers. She gives help, and makes sense of procedures and follows up on tests and doctor reports. She contributes new ideas when we are being treated and in the process of healing. She is never harsh, and provides medical attention gracefully. She thoroughly explains new medication. She does not say, ‘Here are your meds,’ and leave. When I could not physically care for myself, Christina volunteered to ‘suit up’ and help me when I was embarrassed. She is an A+ nurse with honors.”

Christina, it’s clear you go above and beyond for your patients, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Keep up the impeccable work!
