Aya traveler, Scott, receives a sweet patient message

RN, Scott, received a sweet card from two of his patients thanking him for providing them exceptional care.

The first patient wrote, “Scott, thank you so much for the wonderful care I received as your patient. You really went above and beyond to assure my needs were met.”

The other said, “Thanks for taking great care of me! It was a pleasure meeting you. Please tell your son his dad is a ‘Big Time Talent’. All the best to you and your family.”

Scott, your patients appreciate you and so do we! Keep up the fantastic work.

 

Aya traveler, Chelsea, receives a DAISY Award nomination!

RN, Chelsea, was nominated for a DAISY Award after proving her dedication to her patients and her team, even going above the expectations and duties of her job.

The nominator wrote, “Chelsea is the true embodiment of a compassionate nurse. She’s always seeking ways to go above and beyond for both her patients and her co-workers. When challenges arise, Chelsea is the first to step up to the plate. She faces everything with grace and a smile.

There are two instances I remember when Chelsea really rose to the occasion. Recently, Chelsea had a family that couldn’t find a ride home from the emergency department. No one was able to come to get them and the family didn’t have any money to pay for a ride home. Chelsea ordered a ride for them and used her own funds to get the family home safely.

Chelsea also shows her compassion to her co-workers. She had a coworker who received the devastating news of a miscarriage. Chelsea organized a meal train for this coworker in order to support her during her darkest hours. I believe Chelsea is deserving of this award because she exemplifies what a great nurse is. She’s constantly putting others before herself. I just want to give her the highest honor for doing so.”

Travel nurse, Jillian, gets a DAISY Award nomination!

Aya RN, Jillian, was nominated for a DAISY Award by her coworker for her dedication to nursing and the positive attitude she brings to her work.

The coworker wrote, “Jillian brings that little bit of sunshine you need when dealing with the overwhelming cloud of being in a hospital. Her energy is encouraging, not overpowering. Her laugh is infectious, making those around her smile, even on those bad days. She’s the nurse you want assigned to you or your loved ones if in the hospital. She’s the person to ask for when you need a second pair of eyes.

The significance nursing has in her life was evident within the first five minutes of talking to her. Her knowledge of different areas in nursing was broad. She let me pick her brain about her years working in the field and broadened my outlook on where this career could eventually take me. This wasn’t just a job to her. It was her life. When I needed to run my thoughts about a patient by someone, she was the one I went to. When I was drowning in admissions and discharges and asked for help, she was there. Each time I worked with her, I knew someone had my back no matter what.

I truly believe Jillian deserves this award. She deserves to be recognized for her hard work and dedication. She continues to push herself, even continuing her education to soon be an NP. I’m happy to have her as a fellow colleague and friend.”

RN, Tyler, gets a facility shoutout

Aya traveler, Tyler, was recognized on his facility’s Facebook page after he was praised for helping a patient through a tough stay in the hospital. The patient praised Tyler for his attentive care, taking extra time to explain things. He also said he doesn’t know how he would have made it through his stay without him.

In addition, Tyler’s recruiter commented, “Tyler is a joy to work with. He’s consistent, hard-working and a great nurse. At his current assignment, he’s extended 4 times now and also has recently taken on charge nurse responsibilities – they love him and I’m not surprised.”

Travel nurse, Kay, was nominated for the prestigious DAISY Award by a facility administrator, for her outstanding skills and compassionate bedside manner.

The nomination letter stated, “As the stroke coordinator, I was impressed by Kay from the start of her assignment with us. Kay made sure she and I met so she could review her responsibilities and meet the expectations of our Stroke Program. As she became acclimated to our facility, she really shined. Kay’s knowledge and experience in nursing and IR were evident by everyone in the department. One of the neuro interventionalists commented that Kay was the best nurse we had in the Neuro IR lab. Our own associates informed me that patients loved Kay and would ask where she was. Kay has a caring and compassionate bedside manner and was always professional. I highly recommend Kay receive this DAISY Award.”

Aya traveler, Ferman, was complimented by the Director of Surgical Services at his facility for being a valuable asset to their team.

The director wrote, In rounding with one of my employees today, it came up that Ferman has been so helpful to our sterile processing team. He always takes care of his instruments after a case. He takes them to decontamination, makes sure the instruments are opened and sprayed and gets everything ready to be washed and sterilized. He’s been an extra hand to help our team!
