Nafee’ah receives a DAISY Award

Nafee’ah received a DAISY Award for helping her patient become a better parent through her attention and education.

The patient wrote, “Nafee’ah played a crucial part in my birth story. I was so fortunate to have her as my nurse two nights in a row. She was so compassionate and helpful in not only taking care of my baby but taking care of me and my husband as well. It was amazing watching her work. I learned more than any textbook or video could have taught me. I was genuinely thrilled to see Nafee’ah was assigned to our room on the second night. Since we knew my baby was dealing with jaundice, we knew she would be upfeeding frequently. Nafee’ah checked on us more often, brought additional water and ice and reassured us we were doing it right. I honestly felt like I had a friend by the end of my time there. Nafee’ah was such an important part of my journey to motherhood. Without her, I don’t think I would have been able to leave the hospital feeling as confident as I did. Thank you, Nafee’ah, for everything you have done. You have made me a better mother for my little girl, and that is the greatest gift I could ever ask for.”
