Nicole receives a letter of appreciation for her thoughtful care

Nicole’s manager shared a letter of sincere appreciation from a patient and her daughter.

The manager wrote, “I received a call from a patient’s daughter to share the extraordinary experience her mother had during her recent MRI. The patient, who is 82 years old, was understandably very nervous about undergoing her first MRI. Her daughter shared that Nicole went above and beyond to ensure her mother felt comfortable throughout the procedure. She noted that Nicole observed her patient searching for something once she was positioned on the table and thoughtfully asked if she was missing an item. The patient explained that she always carries her late husband’s handkerchief and feels anxious without it. Nicole’s kindness in offering her a washcloth to hold provided great comfort. The daughter and her mother emphasized that the extra time and care truly mattered to them. They spoke very highly of Nicole and expressed deep appreciation for the care she provided. Thank you, Nicole, for demonstrating such compassion and patient-centered care. This is one of the most heartwarming phone calls I’ve ever received.”

Way to go, Nicole! Your thoughtful care and attention to your patients truly make a difference. Keep up the great work!

Kyle is nominated for the DAISY Award

A facility nominated Kyle for the DAISY Award for her compassionate patient care.

The facility leader wrote, “Kyle consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, providing care that is truly holistic and compassionate. She takes time to meet patients where they are, both physically and emotionally. For example, she gently supported a confused patient who was ‘searching for her cats’ by walking with her around the unit to help ease her anxiety when she was unable to sleep. Kyle also demonstrates extraordinary empathy during some of the most difficult moments in her patients’ lives. She sat at the bedside throughout the night, holding the hand of a patient who had lost her husband the day before, offering comfort and presence when it was needed most. In addition, Kyle is a strong advocate for her patients. She takes the time to listen when patients feel unheard and ensures their concerns are addressed by escalating their needs to the care team, helping them receive the attention and treatment they deserve. Kyle’s care makes a profound difference in the unit. In the short time I have worked with her, I have already noticed a positive shift in the culture. Her example inspires others to slow down, be present and go the extra mile for their patients.”

Congratulations on the DAISY Award nomination, Kyle! Your team sees and appreciates your compassionate care. Keep up the great work!

The patient wrote, “Andrea was very friendly and caring. She kept me out of pain so I could rest the whole night. She taught me exactly how to care for my hip after my surgery. I felt like I was able to go home and take care of myself without getting hurt. She was also very helpful with teaching me about my sugar and how important it is to keep it at a good level to heal. She treated me like her only patient and was a joy and delight to have as a nurse. She is a people person. I feel she loves her job, and it showed in the way she took care of me.”

Hailey is praised for her attentive care

Hailey received a shout-out from a patient who appreciated the extra care that went into creating a humane and personal hospital experience.

The patient said, “Hailey is one of a kind! Being in the hospital is difficult, but she made up for it. It’s hard having to use the portable ‘potty’ — it’s very embarrassing. Hailey made me not feel rushed and gave me privacy while standing no more than three feet away. Bright lights give me migraines. Hailey was constantly attentive, getting me meds and helping however she could to lower the bright lights and bring me earplugs and a sleep mask. Hailey checked on me to see how I was doing, and when I needed something, she got it right away and then some. She gave me a lift in spirits. Very thankful you have her here. I hope whenever I come back, she just might be here.”

Hailey, thank you for the quality care you provide your patients. They appreciate everything you do, and so do we!

Lex is nominated for the DAISY Award

A patient’s family member nominated Lex for the DAISY Award for her compassionate care toward their family.

The family member wrote, “I am honored to nominate Lex for the DAISY Award. My dad was first hospitalized in 2025. Over the course of two separate hospitalizations, Lex demonstrated a level of extraordinary care that extended far beyond clinical duties, touching the lives of my father and our entire family. During my father’s first stay, his recovery was complicated by severe anxiety. Lex was his nurse nearly every day, providing a calming presence we all relied on. She went above and beyond by arranging for a bed in his room so a family member could stay overnight. Most notably, when my father was too anxious to undergo a cardiac MRI, Lex personally accompanied him to his alternative PET scan. My father returned a few months later for a triple bypass. During a difficult recovery, he experienced a critical event where his defibrillator fired, requiring an emergency move back to the ICU. Lex was not assigned as my father’s nurse, but the moment she saw the medical team rush into his room, she sprang into action — not for the patient, but for the family. While doctors worked on my father, Lex took my mother to a quiet room to shield her from the chaos, then personally called me to explain the situation and offer reassurance. Lex’s extraordinary nature isn’t just found in what she does when she’s on the clock for a patient; it’s found in her instinct to care for the human beings around her. She saw our family in distress and chose to step in, even when it wasn’t her job. She is the definition of a DAISY nurse.”

Congratulations on the well-deserved DAISY Award nomination, Lex! Thank you for the quality care you provide to your patients and their families.

A patient praises Emily’s compassionate care

A patient gave Emily a shout-out for her commitment to compassionate care and the difference it makes.

The patient said, “Never having been hospitalized for any period of time before this, I felt extremely anxious and at times overwhelmed. Emily stood out as an extraordinary example of what a nurse, functioning at a very high level, can be and how to address not only the patient’s physical needs but also respond with great compassion to their emotional needs as well. When I lost control of my bodily functions one night, I was completely humiliated and totally demoralized. Had it not been for Emily’s continued reassurance, I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through it, or found the strength and the will to heal.”

Emily, thank you for the compassionate manner in which you care for your patients. It means the world to them, and we appreciate it too! Keep up the great work!

Brianna is nominated for the DAISY Award

A patient’s parents nominated Brianna for a DAISY Award for the quality care she provided their son.

The parents wrote, “We wanted to recognize Brianna for the incredible care she gave our son during his brain tumor surgery and recovery. This was one of the most frightening experiences our family has ever faced, and her kindness and professionalism made such a difference. She didn’t just care for him medically — she cared for him as a person. Taking time to talk about her travels helped distract him when he was scared, and the way she explained things and educated both him and us helped us feel calmer and more confident about what was happening. Her patience, compassion and attention meant more to us than we can fully express. Please know that the comfort and reassurance she gave our son and our family will never be forgotten. We are deeply grateful for the role she played in helping him through such a difficult moment.”
