Dayton Daily News: Travel Nurse Completes 46 Assignments Across the Country: Meet Abigael Kaszar

Abigael Kaszar, ER RN, is originally from Ohio. She’s been an Aya travel nurse since August 2014. Abigael’s worked in numerous states across the country, including Colorado, California, Pennsylvania and Illinois, to note a few. She’s currently on her 46^th assignment, working on Long Island (New York) at her 20^th hospital.
“I stayed in Cleveland for 3-and-a-half years and my mom was doing better,” Kaszar said. “I was researching jobs and found out about travel nursing.”

Travel nurses are registered or licensed practical nurses who work on a temporary basis in different locations across the nation and the world. Hospitals contract with agencies to bring professional nurses in as needed to fill in during vacations and other leaves.

“It’s a really big world out there,” Kaszar said. “I already had a specialty as an emergency room (ER) nurse, so I qualified.”

Kaszar started with Aya Healthcare 11 years ago. “The agency helps find us places to live and I always have a choice to take a housing stipend and find my own place or let them find it for me,” Kaszar said.
