Press Release: Aya Locums’ Physician Assistant Named a “2025 Locum Tenens Providers of the Year” by Locumpedia
Locumpedia named Alain Raymond, PA-C, a cardiothoracic surgical physician assistant with Aya Locums and a U.S. Navy veteran, as a “2025 Locum Tenens Providers of the Year.” This award celebrates the dedication, excellence and impact of locum tenens physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) across the United States, honoring healthcare providers who deliver high-quality patient care on an as-needed basis to communities in need.
After transitioning from frontline military service and graduating from the Stanford School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, Alain found locum tenens to be an ideal, flexible next step. Now on his third assignment with Aya Locums, Alain works alongside exceptional cardiothoracic surgeons in Orange County, California.
“Alain’s selflessness and commitment to high-quality care in high-stress environments embody what it means to be an Aya Locum,” said Rhianna Watson, associate vice president of recruitment at Aya Locums. “We’re committed to connecting healthcare organizations with exceptional providers like Alain, so patients can receive the uninterrupted, seamless care they need and deserve.”
As a United States Navy corpsman, Alain received elite training in field combat medicine during two frontline combat tours in Fallujah, Iraq. There, he served alongside trauma surgical teams, performed crucial battlefield medical operations and trained more than 1,000 Marines as field first responders and casualty evacuation specialists.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for the work I do,” said Alain Raymond, PA-C with Aya Locums. “Aya Locums offers me challenges and learning opportunities in cardiac surgery at multiple institutions, so I can continue to sharpen my clinical judgment and operative skills, which is invaluable.”
In addition to his clinical work, Alain is also the founder of the Global MAP Foundation, a nonprofit designed to ignite curiosity and confidence in the next generation of healthcare professionals. His foundation provides students in 7th grade and above with a rare, hands-on immersion into the world of medicine. The Global MAP Foundation is rooted in access, opportunity and empowerment, and it reflects Alain’s belief that meaningful change begins with education and exposure.
Aya Locums is a division of Aya Healthcare, matching physicians and APPs with temporary assignments at healthcare facilities across the country, ensuring patients receive reliable, continuous care.
