- What are the experience requirements?
All per diem positions require at least 1 year of experience since no training is offered. Some facilities may require more.
- What are the location requirements?
To work per diem with us, you must reside within 1.5-2 hours of the facility. The hospitals we work with can confirm shifts 1.5-2 hours before the start time and we want to make sure you have enough time to get to your shift. However, some facilities will require you to be within 50 miles as well.
- How long is the process to get started?
Most clinicians can get through Aya’s per diem compliance process in 1–3 weeks. The exact timing depends on how quickly you complete your requirements and what each facility needs. The first step is connecting with a recruiter and submitting your application for facility approval. Once that’s done, your credentialing specialist will walk you through the compliance checklist. You’ll provide documentation, complete any necessary labs, and after clearance, you’ll be ready to start picking up shifts. We’ll also show you how to download and use the Shifts app, and schedule you for orientation if your facility requires one.
- Can I work per diem around my travel assignment?
Yes, if you’ll be in the area for at least eight consecutive weeks after completing the (2-5 week) compliance process and can provide at least four days of availability per month.
- Is there a minimum shift requirement?
You must provide a minimum of four days of availability per month for each facility where you’re signed up. If something comes up and you can’t provide the necessary availability, we understand and ask that you let our staffing team know.
- How does scheduling work?
Work shifts based on your schedule. Scheduling is done through our Shifts mobile app. In the app, you can view a list of available shifts that you can match yourself to. If you don’t see a shift available on the day you want to work, you can also provide your availability to work that day, so you’ll be matched as soon as a shift becomes available.
- How do I get paid?
You’ll be paid weekly via direct deposit. Every Friday is payday! Per diem shifts are paid at just the hourly rate. There are no reimbursements or stipends for travel available.
- Does Aya Healthcare have a mobile app to find the latest per diem jobs?
Once you’re credentialed and ready to go, download the Shifts mobile app on Google Play or the Apple app store to view current openings and easily book shifts at facilities near you.
