Two nominations and a DAISY Award win for Aya RN, Tonya.

Aya traveler, Tonya, received the prestigious DAISY Award after receiving two nominations for her teamwork and excellent care.

Tonya’s first nomination was submitted by a colleague who wrote, “I have had the pleasure of working side by side with Tonya. She is phenomenal at what she does and cares very deeply for those around her. The one night in particular I recall working with her, a beat was not missed in making sure my patient was cared for and stable. I did not have the confidence that night, the patient was just too complex for my normal and Tonya was right there making sure step by step things were being done. She never stepped over me but worked alongside me and showed me that I actually had the confidence to keep this patient stable. With the help from many other staff members, the night turned into a good night, but without Tonya, I am unsure how it would have played out not only for me but for the patient, too. Tonya is going to be a nurse I never forget in my lifetime of nursing. She taught me so much in the time I worked alongside her. I am grateful for everything she has done.”

The second nomination was sent in by a patient who shared, “I was in the hospital with COVID respiratory and acute kidney failure. I thank God that Tonya was there to get me through the nights. She went above and beyond.”
