Alexis is nominated for a DAISY Award
A colleague nominated Alexis for a DAISY Award for her quick thinking and heroic actions.
The colleague wrote, “A 28-week pregnant mother came into the emergency room with complaints of severe abdominal pain. Alexis quickly assessed the patient and realized it wasn’t typical abdominal pain — the patient was in active labor! Without hesitation, she advocated for a provider to immediately see the patient. The patient then gave birth, and Alexis stepped up to provide emergent temperature management of the preterm infant. She lead the resuscitation and even coordinated a NICU team from the main hospital to personally assist the transport to the NICU. Alexis went above and beyond her call of duty. She displayed compassion, utilized her expert knowledge and care and made a lasting impact that will forever shape those patients’ lives for the better.”
Congratulations on the DAISY Award nomination, Alexis. Keep up the good work!
