Travel Nurses Lanita and Jessika Take a Walk on the Wild Side
It’s not every day you get to visit a wolf sanctuary with one of your best friends. But amazing things happen when you leave your comfort zone and give travel nursing a try! Aya Healthcare travel nurses, Jessika and Lanita, recently finished an assignment in Seattle and raved about their visit to Predators of the Heart in Anacortes, Washington.
A guided tour through this 10-acre forest preserve allows you to take a walk on the wild side…literally! Visitors can venture on a short hike where they have the option to interact with the magnificent residents of the preserve and take once-in-a-lifetime photos. All ticket sales go directly to caring for wolves, bobcats, foxes, owls and other beautiful wild animals in the area. Jessika tells us, “It was by far my favorite thing we did on this travel nursing assignment. Predators of Heart definitely won me over, one sloppy wolf kiss at a time.”
Befriending wolves was a major highlight amongst many travel nursing highlights for both Jessika and Lanita. Both ladies adore working with their recruiter and the rest of the Aya team. “Our recruiter, Megan, is fantastic! Stressful day at work? Call Megan. Exciting news? Call Megan. I might burst? Call Megan,” exclaims Lanita. Jessika adds, “Megan has been nothing but amazing since we started. She is kind and helpful and is truly interested in how your life is going in and outside of work. You rock, Megan!”
When asked her thoughts on Aya in general, Jessika says, “They are accommodating and work hard to find the travel nursing assignment that is right for you. I recommend Aya to anyone that is looking to travel.”
