Travel Nurse Follows Her Destiny With Family in Tow
Aya travel nurse, Bobbi, just won her fifth DAISY Award — an amazing accomplishment! But we’re not surprised. Being a nurse has always been part of Bobbi’s destiny thanks to her close relationship with her grandmother.
“My grandmother, who lost her battle with cancer after two years, made me choose travel nursing,” explains Bobbi. “She’d always tell me, ‘You was born to do this sissy, never give up!’ And I didn’t! When she passed, I was still in nursing school and I know she’s looking down on me today with her beautiful smile, feeling proud of me for becoming the nurse she always wanted me to be!”
Bobbi’s been a travel nurse with Aya for the past two years and has experienced an array of healthcare practices and techniques during her tenure.
“I treat every patient with the same care I would give a family member,” says Bobbi. “Everyone is equal in my eyes when it comes to care. God gave me this gift to share with my patients and I’m so thankful He chose me to do this.”
Travel nursing doesn’t mean giving up family
Not only does Bobbi leave room in her heart for all her patients, she brings her family along for every assignment. “On my days off, I spend every minute with my family. They’re my everything,” she gushes. “My husband’s name is JD and my traveling career would NOT be possible without him,” she continues. “He cares for our children and our house while I’m out living the dream. I have no worries when I’m working because he takes care of it all!”
Bobbi is a full-time nurse who still has time to enjoy life outside of work. Being a travel nurse allows her to spend time with family, work out AND pay the bills. It’s a win win. We’re thrilled to have her on the Aya team and know her grandma would be so proud of her.
