CBS 8 San Diego: Thousands Flock to Balboa Park for Thanksgiving 5k
Aya Healthcare was the presenting sponsor for Father Joe’s Villages Thanksgiving 5K. All proceeds from the 5K supports meals for families in need. Aya respiratory therapist, Benjamin, is on assignment in San Diego, and he participated in the 5K with his family.
San Diego’s Balboa Park was filled with thousands of runners for Father Joe’s Village’s 21st Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5k, sponsored by Aya Healthcare. Despite some people thinking it is crazy to wake up early on a holiday to run a few miles, including Benjamin Cisneros who commented on the courage needed to participate.
Father Joe’s Village hopes to raise half a million dollars, and all funds raised will be used to provide meals for families in need. The event was concluded with live music and a beer garden for runners to enjoy.
