Aya Solves NICU Challenges

When CentraCare Health opened the only level III NICU in St. Cloud, Minn., in 2013, patient demand was high and the need to hire qualified clinicians was urgent. CentraCare engaged Aya Healthcare to help fill vacant NICU roles that were critical to ensure they could meet the increased demand.

As CentraCare expanded, so did the need to fill roles across their entire system. But each site hired their own candidates through a disconnected process, tying up numerous resources. CentraCare centralized recruiting to one corporate function for efficiency, but still needed support. They added additional vendors to help with staffing challenges but ended up working with nearly 20 different companies – each with a different billing and credentialing process and point of contact – making the management of their contingent labor processes time consuming and disorganized. CentraCare needed a more comprehensive, cost-effective solution to manage and optimize staffing.

Aya introduced our managed service provider (MSP) solution in 2014 to simplify things. The Aya MSP centralizes credentialing, billing, ordering and contracting as well as manages risk from all providers. CentraCare’s staffing process was streamlined by consolidating all suppliers through one compliance process, one point of contact and one bill, resulting in process and cost efficiencies.

The hospital system is now fully staffed and can easily access all travel nurse credentials online through Aya’s easy-to-use software, Aya Connect. CentraCare can spend their time and energy on what matters most now thanks to the Aya MSP: providing the best possible patient care for their central Minnesota community.
