Aya Connect Saves the Day for Dignity Health – Community Hospital of San Bernardino
What if the Joint Commission arrived to survey your facility only to find out that one of your clinician’s paperwork was missing? That’s exactly what happened to the Community Hospital of San Bernardino, California – a 343-bed, non-profit hospital with more than 1,000 employees.
The Joint Commission interviewed Aya Healthcare travel nurse Lauren S., who was on assignment at the hospital. Lauren’s paperwork was saved directly to an on-site computer. Unfortunately, the documentation was wiped out during a hard drive crash and unavailable to provide to the Joint Commission at the time of the survey.
Brenda Ham, Community Hospital of San Bernardino staffing office coordinator, contacted her Aya Healthcare account manager for help. Luckily, Aya Connect, Aya’s easy-to-use, proprietary, web-based software was running in the background the whole time, so all traveler compliance documentation was secure and readily available. With just the click of a button and within moments, she was able to provide the required paperwork for the Joint Commission audit.
“I couldn’t believe how easy Aya Connect was to use! I wish we leveraged it sooner,” said Ham. “We now use Aya Connect as our central platform to access traveler paperwork whenever we need it. Thanks to Aya, we are fully prepared for our next Joint Commission survey visit.”
