5 Reasons You Want a Healthcare Recruiter Job at Aya Healthcare
There are a lot of agencies with open healthcare recruiter jobs — so how do you decide which one you should call home? There are many reasons why Aya Healthcare is the answer, including the fact that we’ve won the San Diego Union Tribune’s top workplaces award seven years running, but we’ll let our VP of Recruitment, Chrystal Fugett share her top five reasons for why recruiters love working here:
You Get to Make an Impact
The best part about working as a healthcare recruiter is your ability to make an impact on clinicians and hospitals. Our recruiters help fulfill staffing requests for hospitals who otherwise wouldn’t have enough staff to care for their patients. They’re also advocates and supporters for their clinicians, making sure they get the jobs they want, when they want. As a healthcare recruiter, you get to play a part in helping clinicians find their dream jobs and achieve their personal and professional goals. Behind every contract is a story of a clinician exploring a city they’ve always wanted to visit, working at a dream facility or meeting a lifelong friend, and our recruiters get to be a part of making those memories happen.
You Build Lasting Relationships
Healthcare recruiters are in the relationship business. As a recruiter, you’ll spend your day making connections with, and advocating on behalf of, your clinicians. A big part of a healthcare recruiting job is listening to your clinician and learning about what their professional aspirations are, while building a personal relationship with them. As you get to know your clinicians, you learn about their families, what they like to do for fun and what they need most from you to keep them moving toward their career goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to listen and understand what someone cares about most are what make a healthcare recruiter successful.
You Have Personal Autonomy
At Aya, we believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to recruiting. While we have best practices, ethics and values that guide our team members, our recruiters have the freedom to be themselves and don’t need to follow a script. Each clinician we work with has individual experiences and specific needs that our recruiters tailor their business practices to fit. Aya only hires the best — and we give our recruiters the space to do what’s best for their clinicians.
You Work in a Tight-knit Community
Joining the recruitment team at Aya means joining a community of team members who are there to encourage and support you. At Aya, recruiters start under an associate team manager that usually heads a team of one to five members. This small pod leads to more engagement, accountability and productivity, and fosters one-on-one interactions and hands-on coaching from leadership. Each pod is also part of a larger group led by a team manager or senior team manager, so there are added layers of leadership support for each recruiter. With this team mindset and hands-on leadership approach, Aya is equipped to help you reach your personal and professional goals under a model that breeds strong support networks and collaboration.
Your Well-being Matters to Us
At Aya, we expect excellence and push our team members to be the best possible versions of themselves. However, we understand that life happens, and if we notice someone needs some additional support, we ask what we can do to help them get back to the place they feel their best. A recruiter’s day can be a roller coaster of emotions. Our leaders understand that recruiters can take a lot of that on themselves, so, we encourage breaks to talk with a friend, taking a walk or even signing off an hour early to join one of our company fitness classes, if that’s what they need to do. We want our team members to succeed, and we know they can only do that if they’re taking care of themselves.
Our healthcare recruiters are responsible for providing exceptional service to our travelers, so we want to make sure they have the best experience they can working at Aya.
